Gettysburg and Glacier National Park Silver Bullion Coins Released
The United States Mint today started accepting orders from its network of Authorized Purchasers for the first two installments of the 2011 America the Beautiful 5 Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. The coin program debuted last year with five silver bullion coins all released on December 10.
The United States Mint plans to offer this year’s five coins in intervals throughout the year with only the 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park Silver Bullion Coin and the 2011 Glacier National Park Silver Bullion Coin released at this time.
These two coins may currently be ordered by the Mint’s network of Authorized Purchasers (APs) who have been given the responsibility of selling the national park silver bullion coins to the public. The United States Mint uses this network for all of its bullion products as what is seen as the most efficient method of offering them at as close to market prices as possible. Read more
Glacier National Park Quarter Mintage
The United States Mint mintage total for Glacier National Park Quarters was 61.6 million. The Glacier quarter was released into circulation on April 4, which was the same day the US Mint started offering collector 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of its circulation strikes.
When considering mint facility output, Philadelphia struck fewer than Denver. The 2011-P Glacier Park Quarter mintage was 30.4 million and tied with the lowest minted park quarter to date, the 2011-P Gettysburg Park Quarter. As for the 2011-D Glacier Park Quarter, 31.2 million were produced, ranking third lowest at this time. Read more
2011 Uncirculated Quarters Set
At 12 noon Eastern Time on Tuesday, April 19, the latest America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Set was launched by the United States Mint for $21.95.
2011 Uncirculated Quarters Set
This set consists of 10 quarters — five uncirculated quarters minted at Denver and five uncirculated quarters minted at Philadelphia, which equals two strikes for each design. The uncirculated finish means the coins are not business strikes like those found in every day change. Instead, they go through a special minting process for collectors. Read more
Grand Canyon National Park Quarter Three-Coin Set
The United States Mint is launching the Grand Canyon National Park Quarter Three-Coin Set on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 12 noon Eastern Time (ET) for $14.95.
The set contains one clad proof quarter minted at the US Mint facility in San Francisco and two clad uncirculated quarters — one from Philadelphia and the other from Denver. Each collector strike bears their corresponding mintmark. The sets make it easier for collectors to obtain unblemished numismatic versions of each Grand Canyon National Park Quarter without purchasing more expensive annual sets. Read more

The United States Mint has been busy preparing for late April releases of three new National Park 5 oz Silver Coins — two intended for investors and one for coin collectors.

All three 5 oz silver coins will feature the same designs as those shown on corresponding National Park Quarters, namely the quarters honoring Hot Springs in Arkansas, Gettysburg in Pennsylvania and Glacier in Montana. Read more
2010 Silver Proof Sets with National Park Quarters Temporarily Unavailable
Two United States Mint 2010 silver proof sets which include national site and national park quarters are temporarily unavailable.
Last year’s silver proof sets are still listed in the Mint’s online store, but a statement in red font by each of the products says ‘This product is temporarily unavailable‘. No further information is provided.
However, the last time such a statement was affixed to one of the sets in March it was to adjust its pricing after silver had reached over $35 an ounce. Read more
2011 Glacier National Park Quarter Rolls and Bags
On Monday, April 4, 2011 at 12 noon Eastern Time, the United States Mint will begin selling 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of the 2011 Glacier National Park Quarter. For collectors, rolls and bags of new quarters are fairly popular not only because the coins are part of a series, but also because they offer a first chance to receive and look at new coins long before they make their way into every day circulation.

If the previous 2011 new quarter opening sales numbers are an indicator, then around 6,000 bags and 20,000 two-roll sets of Glacier’s quarters could sell during their first week of availability. Read more
