All of the coins in the series honor sites of national interest from around the United States and its territories. The program’s inaugural strikes appeared in 2010 with five new quarter dollars. Five new quarters are issued annual as part of the program including the 2019 National Park Quarters of which this War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter is a part of.
Two strikes will be released by the Mint in 2019 before the War in the Pacific National Historical Park Quarter as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program – the Lowell National Historical Park Quarter and the American Memorial Park Quarter. Following the War in the Pacific Quarter will be the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park Quarter and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Quarter.
