Found within the set are three different versions of the Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarter. All three are attached to the same durable display card which includes a photographic image of the national park. The Three-Coin Set has a:

  • 2014-P Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarter in uncirculated quality

  • 2014-S Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarter in proof quality

  • 2014-D Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarter in uncirculated quality

To the naked eye, the three coins of the set are nearly identical. Major differences include two different collector-grade finishes and three different mint marks denoting where the quarters were made.

The center coin is struck to proof quality and contains an ‘S’ mint mark from the San Francisco Mint. Proof coins are struck using hand-polished proof blanks and specially polished dies at greater pressure than their circulating counterparts. This results in a coin with enhanced detail, having a frosted, sculpted foreground and a mirror-like background.

The outer coins are featured with an uncirculated finish and showcase ‘P’ and ‘D’ mint marks from the Mint facilities in Philadelphia and Denver. Uncirculated coins are also struck with greater pressure than their circulating counterparts, resulting in a greater level of detail.

The three quarters are in protective blisters which allow for viewing of both the obverse (heads) and reverse (tails) side of each coin. A photographic image of national park of Colorado appears on the front of the card with information about it and the included quarters printed on the back. A certificate of authenticity also appears on the back side.
