Released as the third of five 2016-dated issues from the U.S. Mint’s series of America the Beautiful Quarters, product options range in price from $18.95 to 46.95 and in quantities of 40 to 120 quarters.

Rolls and Bag Product Options

Rolls and bags include circulation quality Harpers Ferry quarters made at one of three United States Mint production facilities:

  • the Philadelphia Mint,
  • the Denver Mint, and
  • the San Francisco Mint.

Options include single rolls, two-roll sets, three-roll sets and 100-coin bags. The table below offers a list of the available quarter products and their pricing.

PRODUCT OPTION MINT MARK PRICE
Single Roll of 40 coins "S" $18.95
100-Coin Bag "P," "D," or "S" $34.95
Two-Roll Set, 40 coins per roll "P" and "D" $32.95
Three-Roll Set, 40 coins per roll "P," "D," and "S" $46.95

Mintmarks indicate which U.S. Mint facility the quarters were produced at with "S" for San Francisco, "P" for Philadelphia and "D" for Denver. The mintmark appears on the obverse (heads side) of each coin.

Eventually, though it could take years to find them, Harper Ferry quarters from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints will appear in change. Those from San Francisco, however, are issued only for numismatic purposes and are not sent into circulation.

Designs on Cumberland Gap Quarters

All America the Beautiful Quarters have the common obverse portrait of George Washington. The effigy was first created by artist John Flanagan and has been in use on quarter dollars since 1932. Obverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "QUARTER DOLLAR" along with the mintmark.

Reverses are unique to each of the national parks or sites honored in the 56-coin series. This quarter features John Brown’s Fort, the site of John Brown’s last stand during his raid on the Harpers Ferry Armory. Inscriptions include "HARPERS FERRY," "WEST VIRGINIA," "JOHN BROWN’S FORT," "2016" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Thomas Hipschen created the design and Phebe Hemphill sculpted it.
