The final quarter product of the year debuts on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with the release of the 2014 Everglades National Park Quarters Three-Coin Set.
This set for collectors is distinguished by its three quarters from three different United States Mint production facilities that are held in a display card with a photographic image of the national park in Florida. (Read about Everglades quarters.) The set has:
- 2014-P Everglades National Park Quarter in collector uncirculated quality
- 2014-S Everglades National Park Quarter in collector proof quality
- 2014-D Everglades National Park Quarter in collector uncirculated quality
To the naked eye, the three coins are nearly identical. Differences include two different collector-grade finishes — proof and uncirculated, and three different mint marks denoting the production plant where the quarters were made — P for Philadelphia, S for San Francisco and D for Denver.
Quarters are inside protective blisters that provide viewing of both the obverse (heads) and reverse (tails) sides. The front of the display card offers the aforementioned image of the national park. The back has information about the quarter, about the park and a United States Mint Certificate of Authenticity.
Everglades quarters are the last of the five 2014-dated coins from the Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters© Program. This year all quarters commemorate national parks with the first four honoring Great Smoky Mountains National Park of Tennessee, Shenandoah National Park of Virginia, Arches National Park of Utah and Great Sand Dunes National Park of Colorado.
